Bónus launches self-scanning - using EasyShop

Datema Retail's EasyShop solution has now reached Iceland. This May, the supermarket chain Bónus will start offering self-scanning for its customers in selected stores.

Stockholm, May 25th, 2023. Datema Retail is excited to announce that the EasyShop solution is now up and running in one of Bónus' supermarkets in Iceland.

After months of planning, preparing and testing, the solution went live for shoppers to use on Thursday. Two more stores will be added soon. The self-scanning hardware is supplied by Zebra Technologies.

The self-scanning solution will be available in the the following stores:

  • Smáratorg located in Kópavogur

    Spöng located in Reykjavík

    Norðurtorg located in Akureyri

  • The first store to have the self-scanning feature is Smáratorg.

  • Currently more than 5 million shoppers use the EasyShop solution around Europe, every month.
